IF THE STUDENT MAKES THE TRYOUTS, HE/SHE WILL ATTEND SENIOR CLINIC
ON THURSDAY NIGHT, FRIDAY AND SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 3 & 4 AT THE PARK
Wind players are
required to play all 12 majur scales in a circle of
fourths starting on concert F plus chromatic. Scales will be performed in
complete octaves at quarter note = 120 in the written rhythm. Chromatic will be
played the full range of the instrument. Students will have 3 minutes to
complete all scales. These are attached to the tryout music.
Percussionists are
required to know the 26 standard rudiments (N.A.R.D.) and the buzz roll in
addition to all 12 major scales.
